About EmitHISTORYEmit AS is the result of a merger between Regnly AS and Timetech AS. The merger took place 1.1.1995. Timetech AS was established by Sven Martis Result service in 1984. The company was, as the only one in Norway, specialists on start numbers (bibs), timing, result service and other computer related services for mass sports events. Regnly AS was established in 1981. The company started with production of tents for participants and organizers at orienteering events. A few years later Regnly started developing advanced timing equipment designed for the most common sports. The company is well known in the market and has a good reputation. Over the last few years Regnly has invested a significant amount of money and resources to develop a new electronic punching- and timing system for orienteering. The companies complement one another well in regards to competence, products and market segments. After the companies merged Emit has become the dominating company in Scandinavia on start numbers, timing equipment and timing services designed for the sports market. Electronic Punching- and Timing system (EPT) This system is developed in association with the Norwegian and Swedish orienteering federations. EPT consists of a start unit that resets and activates the e-card, the e-card that the runner uses to 'punch' at the controls, electronic controls and a reading unit that reads the information in the e-card when the runner has finished. 2.5.
