User manual EKP2 Ski jump
EKP2 Ski jump is an easy-to-use keypad made for
entering scores and length in ski jumping competitions. EKP2 is connected to a PC via a RAC
connection box.
Keys that are used:
- Clear/ON - turns the unit on/off, deletes
last number
- Enter (¿ ) - accepts
entered values
- Numerical keys and comma
- Connect EKP2 to a RAC connection box using the
input to the far left (input A)
- Turn on EKP2 by pressing Clear/ON for a few seconds.
- The upper display shows the software type and
battery level, while the lower display is blank.
- Select address for EKP2. All keypads must have unique
addresses. If using five keypads
for scores and one keypad for length, it is important to choose addresses
1-5 for entering scores, and address 6 for entering length.
- Choose whether you want to use EKP2 for
biathlon or ski jumping. The upper
display shows "JU1", and the lower "bI2". Press 1 for ski jumping.
- EKP2 is now ready to use. The upper display shows
"0,0", the lower display is blank.
- Enter the ski jumper's score, using the
numerical keys, followed by ¿. Entered
value is shown in the lower display.
When pressing ¿ the
entered value is moved to the upper display, while the lower display shows
"SEnd". The lower
display is blanked when the keypad receives a confirmation string from the
result program used on the PC. If
you want to register 18,5 as the score; press 18,5 ¿. If the
score is 18,0, it is not necessary to enter the decimal. Just press 18 ¿.
- Keypads with addresses 1-5 accept only valid
scores. If an invalid score is
entered, EKP2 beeps, and the lower display is blanked. Enter the score again.
- The keypad with address 6 is used for entering
length. This keypad accepts all
values with up to one decimal. If
values with more than one decimal are entered, EKP2 beeps, and the lower
display is blanked. Enter the
length again.
- If a wrong value is entered, the Clear/ON key functions as a delete key and deletes last
number entered.
- Turn
off EKP2 by pressing Clear/ON for a
few seconds.
The battery used in EKP2 is
soldered on and must be replaced by authorized personnel only. With normal usage it will last for many
years.
